Safe & Secure Locksmith has cut and programmed car keys in Vancouver since 1992, from a shop at 4105 Macdonald St. Almost all of the automotive work happens at the vehicle: the cutting machine, the blanks and the programmers travel in the van, so a car that will not start does not need a tow to a dealership.

Start with the job you actually have. Car key replacement covers a key that is lost, broken or worn past cutting. Key fob replacement and programming is for a remote or proximity fob that is missing or has stopped talking to the car. Car key duplication is the cheap one: a spare cut while you still have a working key. Car lockout is for keys sitting on the seat behind a locked door, and ignition repair is for a key that goes in but will not turn.

• Cut and programmed keys. Transponder keys, remote head keys, flip keys, laser-cut blades and proximity smart keys, paired to the immobilizer before we leave.
• All keys lost. No working key at all. We read the key code, cut a blade and program from scratch. See all keys lost.
• Fobs and remotes. Supply, programming, pairing a fob you already own, and battery swaps.
• Lockouts. Non-destructive entry on cars, vans and light trucks, including keys shut in the trunk.
• Ignitions. Stuck keys, snapped blades, worn wafers and failed switches, repaired or replaced on site.
• Broken key extraction. The half still in the lock or the ignition comes out without drilling in most cases.

The $75 service call covers standard hours. After-hours labour starts at $150 from 5-9 pm and runs $250/hour from 9 pm to 8:30 am, and the rate is quoted on the phone before we dispatch. Every figure on this page is the same one published on the prices page.
