Toyota mostly fitted fixed-blade remote head keys in North America, so a flip key on a Toyota of this age is a less common sight. This folding version puts the blade, the immobiliser chip and a four-button remote into one compact unit, with the blade tucked away until you press the release. The four buttons are normally lock, unlock, trunk or hatch, and panic.
