MIT17 is the industry name for this Mitsubishi transponder key blank, made by JMA. The old record lists a Philips 46 chip, MIT3 as the test key, and part numbers MIT17A-PT, MIT17PT, 5921227 and MN141307. It is a plain key with no buttons. The record also notes it is not reusable. Once its chip is programmed to a car, it cannot be moved to another vehicle. You can have this key done in one of two ways. Cut only gives you a key that turns the door locks and ignition but will not start the engine, useful for a door or trunk key. Cut and program gives you a full working key that starts the car, and needs the vehicle present plus registration and photo ID. Why choose a plain key at all?
