The OUC003M smart key, and how we set one up.
The Mirage is a small, simple car, but higher trims came with a proximity key and push button start, and this 3-button fob is for those cars. The buttons are lock, unlock and panic. Base Mirages with a turn key use something different, so check whether yours has a start button before ordering. Mirage owners often bought the car used, and it is common for a second-hand Mirage to arrive with one fob. Adding a second while that one works is easy to arrange, and it keeps you away from the bigger job of programming a car with no working key at all. When the fob's battery dies, you can still get in with the mechanical key that slides out of it, and the car will generally still start if you hold the fob close to the start button. We cut that mechanical key to your door lock as part of the job. The fob itself is programmed to the Mirage through the diagnostic port, with the car present along with its registration and the owner's photo ID. If you want to confirm fit first, tell us your year and trim, or bring the old fob to the counter.
