Every Chevrolet proximity fob from these years hides a small key that slides out of the case. It is easy to lose, often because it slipped out of the fob in a bag, and you only notice it missing when you need it. This listing replaces that insert. It is a mechanical key only. There is no chip, no button and no transmitter, so it will not start the vehicle and does not need programming. Its job is to open the driver's door when the fob battery or the car battery is dead; once inside, you can usually start the car by placing the fob in the backup pocket or position described in your manual. Since it only works if it is cut correctly, we cut it on a code machine, either from your vehicle's key code or by reading another key, and then check that it clicks firmly into your fob.
