The Nikawa Evolve EV-040(ss) is a stainless steel safe designed to look like furniture rather than equipment. The front has no visible electronics until you touch it: the keypad lights up under your fingers, and a stealth mode lets you unlock it silently. It holds two user PINs of 4 to 20 digits. Five wrong entries lock the keypad for three minutes and set off the built-in alarm, which is rated at 120 decibels and also responds to a tilt sensor if someone tries to move the safe. Five 19 mm bolts secure the door, three live and two fixed, and a motorised auto-lock function means the door secures itself when closed. The safe is listed with a KS one-hour fire test. A low battery indicator warns you before power runs out, and if the batteries do die there is a Micro USB port on the outside for emergency power.
