Infiniti key and fob replacement in Vancouver

Infiniti is Nissan's luxury division and uses the same Intelligent Key hardware, which keeps an Infiniti fob in normal money rather than European money. A proximity Intelligent Key for a Q50, QX50, QX60, QX80 or G37 is $280-$420 cut and programmed. The older blade transponder cars are $180-$280. All keys lost starts from $180 once the module has been read.

We do it where the car is. Most Vancouver addresses are 20 to 30 minutes from the shop at 4105 Macdonald St. Published bands sit on the price list, and the car key replacement page covers the same work for every other badge.

Intelligent Key from launch. Programmed at the kerb through the OBD port, with push-button start verified before we leave.

QX60 and QX50

Intelligent Key throughout. The QX60 is the Infiniti we are called to most in Vancouver, usually for a second fob.

QX80

Intelligent Key. Remote start and tailgate functions are paired and tested with the key.

G37 and G35

G37 is Intelligent Key. The earlier G35 starts on a blade transponder and moves to Intelligent Key, and it is the Infiniti whose ignition cylinder wears first.

What an Infiniti key costs, dealer or locksmith

Published figures. A dealer key is ordered in and still has to be programmed at the car.

Intelligent Key proximity fob

$280-$420 cut and paired for Q50, QX50, QX60, QX80 and G37.

Blade transponder key

$180-$280 for the older G35 and the early sedans.

Spare beside a working key

$300-$420 for a proximity spare, $180-$240 for a blade spare.

All keys lost

From $180, module read included, the missing fob voided so it cannot start the car.

Service call

A $75 service call covers standard hours. Labour after 5 pm is $150 to 9 pm and $250/hour from there to 8:30 am.

Antenna rings, worn cylinders and dead fob cells

An Intelligent Key the car will not detect

On the Q50 and QX60 the antenna ring around the start button is a known weak point. When it fails the car ignores a perfectly good fob. Testing that first saves buying a key you did not need.

G35 and G37 ignition wear

These cylinders bind around the six-figure mileage mark. We replace the cylinder at the kerb and key it to your existing key where the lock allows; that is ignition repair.

Fob buttons that stop responding

QX60 and QX80 fobs lose their lock buttons before they lose their proximity function. Often a shell swap rather than a new key.
