Automotive Keys 1998-2005 Mercedes - HU64 - 2 Track - Transponder Key (44 Chip) Vancouver

Most Mercedes owners picture the chunky infrared key when they think of their car, but a number of late-1990s and early-2000s Mercedes and related models use a simpler chipped key on the HU64 blade instead. HU64 is a two-track, laser-cut profile: the cuts are milled into the flat faces of the blade along two paths rather than notched along the edges. The listing specifies a 44 transponder chip in the head. Which vehicles? This blank turns up on certain Mercedes models and on vehicles that share Mercedes components, so the most reliable check is your existing key. If it has a squared laser blade with a groove pattern, a plain head, and no infrared window, show it to us. Ask us to confirm for your trim/year rather than going by the badge alone. Cutting an HU64 needs a code or tracer machine capable of laser-track keys, which is what we use. After cutting, the 44 chip has to be prepared to suit your car's immobiliser, and depending on the system, that may mean working from your existing key or with the vehicle itself. We will explain which applies before any work begins. Bring the car, the registration and your photo ID. Call 604-734-7233 if you want to check the fit first.
