The Tibbe lock is easy to recognise: a round keyway, and a blade with cuts on its edge that rotate discs inside the cylinder rather than lifting pins. H91 is the six-cut version that Ford's European side used, which is why it turns up on both the Jaguar range and the Transit Connect van. This is the shell: housing and uncut Tibbe blade, without a chip. Transit Connect fleet keys in particular live hard lives, and the heads crack or the blades twist after a few years of daily deliveries. If the chip in your old key is intact, we transfer it, cut the new blade on our Tibbe machine, and the van or car starts exactly as before. There is no programming in that process, so you do not need to bring the vehicle. You do need to bring the old key with its chip. Tibbe cuts are not something a standard key machine can copy, so do not try to get a hardware store copy of this one. If the chip is lost, ask about a complete transponder key instead, programmed to the vehicle at our counter on Macdonald St or at the vehicle.
