The Jaguar smart key, and how we set one up.
Owners of the XK, XKR and XF often describe their key as the nicest part of the car to hold, and this is a brand new original unit rather than a recased or aftermarket one. The old record lists FCC ID KR55WK49244, 315 MHz, a CR2032 battery and part number C2P17155. The five buttons are lock, unlock, panic, lights or beams, and trunk. Pressing the lights button switches on the headlamps for a few moments, useful for finding the car in a dark lot. No emergency key is included. These Jaguars still have a key slot for the door, so we recommend adding a blade, which we cut to your door lock on our code machine. Without one, a dead fob battery can leave you outside the car. The fob is programmed with diagnostic equipment and the car present. Bring the Jaguar, your registration and photo ID, and all fobs you still have. We do all keys lost on these cars as well. If you are unsure whether your car takes this key or the 2007 to 2011 version, ask us to confirm for your model and year.
