The Chrysler emergency key blade, and how we set one up.
Every Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep Fobik and smart fob from 2008 to 2021 hides a short metal key inside, and this is that insert. It clips into the slot in the fob and pulls out when you press the release. Its only job is the door lock: when the fob battery is dead, the vehicle battery is flat, or the remote simply will not respond, this blade opens the driver's door by hand. There is no chip in it and no electronics, so it will not start the engine, and nothing needs programming. That also means you can order one when your original insert has gone missing from the fob, which happens more often than people think. The release catch wears, and the blade slips out unnoticed. Cutting is the whole job. We cut it to your vehicle's door lock by code or from a working key, and it is worth testing in the door afterwards, since many owners have never used their emergency key before and do not know it works. Bring the fob along so we can check the insert seats properly. Ask us to confirm the blade type for your model.
