Automotive Keys 2012-2017 Toyota Prius / 3-Button Remote Head Key Vancouver

Most people picture a Prius with a smart key and a start button, but not every one has it. Some trims of these years, the smaller Prius c among them, came with an ordinary remote head key: three buttons on a black head, usually lock, unlock and panic, over a fixed blade that turns in the ignition. If that describes your key, this is its replacement. Some other Prius models use a fob that plugs into a slot in the dash, which is a different part, so ask us to confirm for your trim. The head holds a transponder the hybrid system checks before it will power up, plus the remote board. We cut the blade by copying your key or from code, register the chip and pair the remote, with the car present. Prius owners tend to keep their cars a long time, and keys from these years are now well worn. Watch for a blade that wiggles in the head or buttons that need a hard press. A spare made while one key still works is the easy route; with none, we originate one at the car. Bring registration and photo ID.
