The Lexus smart key, and how we set one up.
Lexus smart keys tend to outlive their cases. The electronics keep working long after the leather-look trim peels, the chrome edge flakes off, or the case splits from a drop on concrete. If your fob still unlocks and starts the vehicle, this shell lets you keep that working board in a fresh housing. It is a case only. There is no circuit board inside, so it does nothing on its own. We open your old fob, move the board across, fit it into this 4-button housing and close it up. Because the vehicle already knows that board, it should not need programming. If your emergency insert is missing or bent, we can cut a new one to your door at the same visit. Check your button layout before you order: this shell is for fobs with four buttons, usually lock, unlock, trunk or power back door, and panic. The button positions need to line up with the switches on your board, so a case for a different generation will not work even if it looks close. If the fob has stopped working entirely, the shell will not help. Ask us about a full smart key instead.
