The hatch button is what sets this Cherokee fob apart. Along with lock, unlock and panic, the fourth button opens the rear liftgate, which on a power liftgate Cherokee is the button you use most when your arms are full of groceries. If your current fob has a hatch symbol on it, this is the one to match. Not to be confused with the 4-button fob that carries remote start instead. Both have four buttons; they do different things. Look at the icon on the fourth button before you order, or show us the old fob. What wears out: the button legends rub off, the hatch button stops registering after years of heavy use, and the case cracks near the keyring loop. When a fob is lost or the board has failed, a new one has to be programmed to the Cherokee with diagnostic equipment, with the vehicle there. We also cut the emergency blade inside the fob to your driver's door, so a flat fob battery never leaves you standing outside. Bring the registration and photo ID, and either drive the Cherokee to our Macdonald St shop or have us come to it.
