Automotive Keys 2022-2023 GMC Sierra 1500 / 5-Button Smart Key Vancouver

GMC refreshed the Sierra 1500 partway through 2022, and the newer trucks are the ones this proximity key is listed for. Because the 2022 model year was split between the outgoing and refreshed trucks, the build date on your door jamb sticker can matter, so tell us the year and trim or send a photo of your old fob and we will confirm the match. Five buttons is the common layout on push-start Sierras: lock, unlock, remote start, panic and a tailgate control. Pickups with the multi-function tailgate or a power tailgate rely on that last button daily, which is one reason owners do not want to live with a borrowed or mismatched fob. Inside the case is a short metal blade for the driver's door. We cut it to your lock, then add the fob to the Sierra's key list through its diagnostic port. That programming happens at the truck, and we will ask for the registration and a photo ID first. If one key still works, a spare is a smaller job than an all-keys-lost visit. Contractors who share trucks between crews often keep a third key, which is easy to add at the same appointment.
