Locks 014-1414L-L1 - PRIVACY LOCK Vancouver

Privacy locks are made for interior doors such as bathrooms and bedrooms, where the aim is to stop someone walking in rather than to keep out a determined intruder. The 014-1414L-L1 is one of these: the inside has a button or turn piece to lock it, and there is no key cylinder on the outside. That last point surprises people. Privacy locks normally have a small emergency release on the outside, operated with a slim tool or pin, so a parent or caregiver can open the door if a child locks themselves in or someone needs help. Keep that tool somewhere sensible. Before ordering, measure your door: the backset (distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the hole), the bore hole size and the door thickness. Ask us to confirm this model suits your door if you are not sure. If you need a lock that takes a key, for a home office or a storage room, a keyed entry function is the better choice. We can supply and install either; call 604-734-7233.
