The Mazda smart key, and how we set one up.
Mazda smart keys tend to fail at the buttons and the seams rather than the electronics. After a few years the rubber pad tears, the plastic halves separate, or the clip that holds the emergency key cracks so the blade falls out. This listing is the empty four-button housing, buttons included, meant to give a worn fob a fresh exterior. Swapping into a shell is a transplant. We open your old fob, move its circuit board and battery across, and seat everything in the new case. The vehicle already knows that board, so there is no programming and no need to bring the car. If your emergency key blade is missing or worn, we can cut a new one to fit the shell as well. A shell will not help if the fob has stopped talking to the car, if it went through the washing machine, or if the board has a broken solder joint.
