Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler & Ram Key Replacement Vancouver

Four badges, one key system. Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and Ram run the same immobiliser family, take the same blanks and are programmed by the same route, which is why they share a page here. A blade transponder key is $180-$280 cut and programmed. The slot-in Fobik and the Keyless Enter-N-Go proximity key are $280-$420. All keys lost starts from $180.

Blade key, Fobik or proximity: what the Dodge in your driveway takes.

Published figures, and they do not change with the badge on the tailgate. A dealer key still has to meet the vehicle to be programmed.

Jeep splits at roughly 2018. The JK Wrangler, the older Grand Cherokee and the first Compass take a blade transponder key. The JL Wrangler, the Gladiator, the Renegade and the current Cherokee and Compass are proximity. Wranglers get their keys lost outdoors more than any other vehicle we cut for, which is why we carry the blanks rather than ordering them.

Ignition faults on the older Grand Cherokee show up as a key that turns but will not crank. That is ignition repair, not a key. The Jeep page carries the full model list.

Chrysler is where the Fobik lived longest. The 300, the Town and Country and the 200 used the slot-in key through the middle years, and the dash slot contacts are the part that ages, not the key. The Pacifica and the Voyager moved to Keyless Enter-N-Go proximity, which is written through the vehicle module at the kerb.

A Pacifica that ignores its key after a flat 12 volt battery usually needs a relearn rather than a replacement. Model-by-model detail is on the Chrysler page.

The 1500, the 2500 and 3500, and both van bodies. Ram trucks ran the blade transponder and the Fobik well into the 2010s before the current proximity key arrived on the 1500. The heavy trucks followed later. Both ProMaster vans stayed on the blade key throughout, which makes them straightforward fleet rekeys: we cut a set to one code and document it.

The Fobik that reads intermittently

A Fobik is a key that slides into a slot instead of turning a cylinder. After five or six years the slot contacts foul and the vehicle sees the key only sometimes. Cleaning and testing comes before selling a replacement Fobik.
