The first-generation MDX came with a separate keyless remote that hangs beside the ignition key, and after fifteen-plus years of use the case is usually the first thing to go. This listing is a new shell for that fob, made to suit the MDX remote and its button layout. It arrives empty, with no circuit board, so it relies on your working one. We open your old fob, move the board across, check the battery contacts, close up the new case and test every button with your vehicle. Nothing needs reprogramming because the board the MDX already knows has not changed. If your MDX remote shows signs of life with a fresh coin cell but the case is cracked or the buttons are torn, this is the right repair. If the remote is completely dead with a new battery, the board may have failed, and we would recommend a complete remote paired to the vehicle instead. MDX remotes of this generation differ from some other Acura fobs, so check the button arrangement against the photos, or ask us to confirm for your trim/year.
