Automotive Keys 2003-2007 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO - Transponder Key Vancouver

Evo owners tend to arrive with one tired key and a car they would rather not have towed anywhere. The Evolution VIII and IX share their key family with the regular Lancer of the same years: an edge-cut blade with a transponder chip in the plastic head, and no remote buttons on the key itself. Because Mitsubishi used more than one chip across these years and markets, we check the chip in your existing key, or confirm by VIN and build date, before anything is cut. With a working key in hand, the chip can often be read and copied. Without one, the car's immobiliser has to learn the new key directly. Programming always involves the car, so plan on bringing it to 4105 Macdonald St or booking a mobile visit, and have the registration and your photo ID ready. The blade itself is cut on a code machine. Many Evos have had imported or aftermarket keys made over the years, so if your current key turns stiffly or only works in one door, mention it; we may cut to the factory code rather than copy a key that has drifted from spec.
