Lock, unlock and panic on the head, a fixed blade, and a chip inside: this is the Honda and Acura key that covers a long stretch of model years and models, from Fit and Civic to CR-V and others. Three buttons usually means the car has no separate trunk release on the key, or that it is a hatchback or SUV where the liftgate opens by hand. If your existing key has a fourth button, look at the 4-button listing so you do not lose that function. These keys tend to last, but the button membrane eventually splits, and the remote side can quit long before the chip does. That leaves owners with a key that starts the car but no longer locks it from a distance. A new key gets cut on our code machine and then programmed.
