The Honda remote head key, and how we set one up.
Civic owners with a trunk release button on their key need this four-button version: lock, unlock, trunk and panic, with the chip and remote in the head. If your Civic key only has three buttons, the car may be a hatchback or a trim without that button, and the three-button key is the better match. This range covers more than one Civic generation, and Honda changed details in between. We would rather confirm your trim and year before you buy than have you discover the board does not suit your car. The usual reasons people need it are lost keys, keys run through the laundry, and button covers worn so thin the contacts underneath fail. Cold weather can also expose a tired battery. We cut the blade on a code machine, so the key turns as smoothly as the original, then program both the immobiliser chip and the remote with the Civic present. Registration and photo ID are required.
