The Acura flip key, and how we set one up.
Four buttons on an MDX or RDX key usually means the vehicle has a power liftgate, with its own button alongside lock, unlock and panic. That extra button is the difference between this key and the three-button version, and it only works if your SUV has the power liftgate to go with it. So start by looking at your current key. If it has four buttons, this is the right family. If it has three, the 3-button key is the better match. Owners usually need one when the flip mechanism has failed, the liftgate button has stopped responding, or a key has gone missing. Since a power liftgate is heavy to lift by hand, a working remote button is something people miss quickly. We cut the folding blade to your ignition and door locks on our code machine, then program the transponder and remote with the vehicle at our shop or at your home. We ask for registration and photo ID. We carry two 4-button MDX and RDX listings because the boards differ. Ask us to confirm which suits your trim and year.
