The Dodge smart key, and how we set one up.
The three-button Chrysler-group fob, with just lock, unlock and panic, is the plain version found on base trims. Its housing is the part that gives up: the two halves separate, the battery door breaks, the hidden blade's catch fails and the key slides out. This listing is that housing on its own. Because the board inside your old fob is already programmed to the car, moving it into a new shell keeps everything working. We open the old fob, move the board and battery, and close it up in the new case. If the emergency blade is lost, we cut a new one to your driver's door as well. The car does not need to come with you. This is the right fix only if the fob still talks to the vehicle. If the car is not seeing it at all, even with a new battery, the board has likely failed and a shell will not help. Bring it to the counter at 4105 Macdonald St and we will test it first. Check the shape against yours, since Jeep and Dodge fobs of the same era vary.
