The Dodge fobik key, and how we set one up.
Three buttons on a RAM Fobik covers the basics: lock, unlock and panic. No remote start and no tailgate button. It suits trucks that were built without those options, and it is also what some owners pick for a work key that rides on a separate ring. The Fobik is the rectangular fob you push into a slot in the dash and turn to start. If your RAM has a start button and no slot, this is the wrong key. If it has a slot, check that your current fob looks the same, since the button count should match what your truck was built with. Each Fobik hides a small metal blade that opens the driver's door if the fob or the truck's battery is dead. We cut it to your door lock, then program the Fobik itself to the truck so the ignition accepts it and the buttons respond. That requires the truck with us, its registration and the owner's photo ID. A truck down to one Fobik is one lost key away from an all-keys-lost job. Adding a spare while that one key still works is the easier path.
