The Dodge smart key, and how we set one up.
Five-button Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep fobs get used hard. The remote start button is pressed every cold morning, and over time the rubber pad wears through, the battery cover cracks, and the seam starts to spread. A new shell puts a clean exterior on the same working electronics. Everything that matters stays the same. We transfer your circuit board into this housing, set the button pad, and close it up, so the car sees no change at all. No programming, no need to bring the vehicle. If the emergency blade is missing, we cut a new one to your door so the fob is complete again. What a shell cannot do is repair failed electronics. If your fob is not recognised even with a fresh battery, or if a button stopped working while the rubber is still intact, the problem is likely on the board. In that case you need a complete key, which we program to the car. Shape and button arrangement differ between models, so match the outline to your fob first. We are happy to look at it at the shop.
