The Fobik is Chrysler's name for the rectangular fob that slides into a slot in the dash and starts the truck when you turn it. Many RAMs from 2013 to 2018 use it. This version has five buttons, which normally adds remote start and a tailgate or similar function to lock, unlock and panic. Fobiks get a hard life on a truck. They get dropped on gravel and leaned on in back pockets, and they ride on keyrings with a dozen other keys pulling on the slot end. The usual failures are a cracked housing, a button that no longer responds, or a key that the dash suddenly refuses to recognise. There is a mechanical blade hidden inside for the door lock. We cut that to your truck first, then program the Fobik to the vehicle so the ignition accepts it and the remote functions work. Remote start needs the truck to have been equipped with it from the factory; a five-button fob alone will not add it. Bring the truck, its registration and your photo ID.
