The Dodge smart key, and how we set one up.
Three Dodge cars, one four-button fob. The Charger, the compact Dart and the Challenger coupe all used this proximity key on trims without remote start, with lock, unlock, trunk and panic. If your fob has a fifth button with a circular arrow, you have remote start and should look at the five-button listing instead. The push-button ignition only works when the car detects a registered fob inside. That registration is our job: we program the new fob to the car with it present, and cut the hidden emergency blade to your door. On the Dart, the same basic fob design was also sold as a Fobik in some trims, so check your key shape against ours. These cars are often bought used with one fob, and that single fob tends to live in a pocket with a phone and keys, where buttons get worn. A second fob protects you from a long walk home. If your only fob is lost, we still make one at the car. Registration and photo ID are needed for programming. Ask us to confirm the fit for your exact year.
