Automotive Keys 2013-2016 Infiniti / 5-Button Smart Key Vancouver

Five buttons on an Infiniti fob usually means the vehicle has a power liftgate or power trunk plus remote start, on top of lock, unlock and panic. If your current fob has that layout and you start the car by pressing a button on the dash with the key in your pocket, this is the smart key style for 2013-2016 Infiniti models. Infiniti used several fob shapes across the lineup in these years, so we will compare yours against this one or check your model before we program. A proximity key talks to the car constantly, which drains its coin cell faster than an old remote. When the battery fades, the doors stop responding to the handle buttons first. Infiniti planned for that: there is a mechanical blade tucked in the fob for the driver's door, and holding the fob against the start button will usually let the car read it with a weak cell. For a new fob, we cut that hidden blade to your door and program the fob to the car with our diagnostic tools. Bring the vehicle, its registration and photo ID to the job. A spare added while another fob still works is less involved than a lost-all-keys situation.
