When a Ford Intelligent Access fob or the vehicle battery dies, the door handle buttons stop working, and the only way in is the small keyhole on the driver's door. This is the blade that fits it. It slides into a slot in the fob and is released by a catch on the back, so it lives with the fob and is easy to lose without noticing. Many Fords hide the driver's lock cylinder under a small cap on the door handle. You pry the cap off, and the keyhole is underneath. Worth knowing before the day you need it. There is no chip in this blade and no transmitter, so it opens the door and nothing else. It will not start the engine, and there is nothing to program. All the work is in the cutting: we cut it on a code machine to your door lock, either from an existing key or to the lock code, so it turns cleanly rather than sticking in a cylinder that has hardly been used.
