Automotive Keys 2016-2022 Honda HR-V Fit / 4-Button Smart Key Vancouver

Honda sells the HR-V with a proximity system from the day it arrived here, which is why our Honda page lists it as proximity from launch, and this four button smart key is the fob it uses across the 2016 to 2022 model years. The same record names the Fit, and there the page tells a different story: the Fit stayed on a blade transponder key for most of its life, with flip keys on some years, so on a Fit look for a start button on the dash before you order this fob, because only the trims with one use it. The fob unlocks the doors when you reach for a handle with it on you, starts the engine on the button, and typically gives you lock, unlock, hatch and alarm on the four buttons. A concealed emergency blade opens the driver's door if the fob goes flat, and on these cars it is a sidewinder blade cut on the face rather than the edge, which we cut on our own machine instead of ordering. To be clear about the listing, you are buying the complete fob with the electronics fitted. If your fob still works and only the plastic has failed, ask about a shell instead, because moving your board into a new case costs less than pairing a fob. Pairing takes place with the HR-V present, at 4105 Macdonald St in Vancouver or at your address, and we register the transponder and the remote to the immobiliser in the same visit; a Honda dealership is not part of the process. If every fob is gone the immobiliser is read at the car before a fresh fob is written, and the lost fob is voided so it can never start the vehicle again. What kills these fobs in Vancouver is the weather. A fob that has spent a wet winter in a jacket pocket comes in with green corrosion on the board and a lock button that works one press in three, and by then a new fob is the honest answer. Bring the registration, photo identification and any working fob, and call 604-734-7233 before you come so we can check stock.
