The Honda transponder key, and how we set one up.
The HO01 profile is the plain Honda and Acura ignition key, the one with a black rubber or plastic head and no buttons. This listing is only the outer case and blade. There is no chip inside, which is the whole point: your car already knows the chip in your old key, and we simply give it a new home.
Shells make sense when the damage is physical. Honda heads split along the side, the blade starts to wobble, or the top snaps off where the keyring goes. The car may still start, or it may start only if you hold the pieces just so. Moving the chip into a solid head ends that.
The counter work is quick to describe: pry open the old head, recover the chip, fit it into this shell, cut the blade to your ignition by copying or by code. There is no programming, so the car does not have to come in.
One caution. If your current key has buttons for lock and unlock, this is the wrong shell; you need a remote head version. And if the chip is lost, a new programmed transponder key is the answer instead.
