Automotive Keys 2017-2021 Ford / Emergency Key Vancouver

Every Ford with push button start still has a keyhole, and this is the key that fits it. Ford tucks a short mechanical blade inside the Intelligent Access fob, released by a catch on the back, for the day the fob's cell is flat or the truck's battery is dead and nothing electronic answers. This listing is that blade, for 2017 to 2021 models, sold on its own. There is no transponder in it and no transmitter, so it will not start the engine and there is nothing to program; the entire job is cutting it accurately to the driver's door lock. Because the immobiliser never sees it, the blade is the one part of a modern Ford key that can be made without the vehicle present, provided we have the key code or a good original to copy, though we still ask for the registration so we know the code belongs to your car. Owners come looking for this piece for three reasons: the original blade was lost when a fob was replaced and the new fob arrived without one, the old blade snapped off in a frozen door lock in January, or a second fob was bought used and its blade fits somebody else's F-150. In each case the fix costs a few minutes at the counter at 4105 Macdonald St in Vancouver rather than a dealer order. Do not confuse it with a shell or with a full fob. A shell is a replacement fob case; a full fob carries the electronics that talk to the truck's PATS system and has to be paired with the vehicle. This blade is the spare tire of the key set, and the moment to have one cut is while the fob still works, since a locked Ford with a flat fob at a trailhead is exactly the call we would rather you never had to make.
