Automotive Keys 2017-2024 Ford Edge Ranger / 4-Button Smart Key Vancouver

An Edge crossover and a Ranger pickup are very different vehicles, but Ford gave both a four button proximity fob in this period. The fourth button is the one people ask about. On many of these it is remote start, shown as a circular arrow; on some layouts it is the liftgate. Look at the icon on your current fob and match it, because the vehicle will only respond to the functions it was built with. Rangers are often work trucks that live outside, and their fobs get dropped on job sites. Cracked cases and buttons that only respond when pressed hard are the usual complaints we see. Edge owners tend to come in because a used vehicle arrived with one key and they want a second. Whichever you drive, the job looks the same. We cut the emergency blade in the fob to your driver's door on a code machine, then pair the fob to the vehicle through the diagnostic port. The vehicle needs to be with us or we need to be with it, along with the registration and your ID. A working key on hand makes the spare simpler to add than an all-keys-lost visit.
