The current Mazda 3 arrived for 2019 in both sedan and hatchback form, and push start trims use this four button proximity fob. Expect lock, unlock, a trunk or hatch button and panic. Hatchbacks and sedans can have different rear functions, so tell us which body you drive and we will confirm. Mazda 3 fobs are small, which means they disappear easily. They also go through batteries faster when kept near a phone or in a bag that bounces against other electronics. If your car has started to say the key is not detected, try a new coin cell, then hold the fob against the start button; if the car starts that way, the battery was the problem. A new fob needs two things from us. The emergency key that slides out of the fob must be cut to your door, which we do on our code machine. Then the fob must be registered to the car through the diagnostic port, with the car present. We ask for the registration and photo ID before programming.
