Automotive Keys 2021-2024 Hyundai Tucson / 5-Button Smart Key Vancouver

The current Tucson is keyless from the base trim up, and its fob carries five buttons rather than the four on the older cars, the extra one on most trims being remote start. This is that five button smart key, fitted to the 2021 to 2024 model years. Nothing on it turns a lock in normal use: the vehicle senses the fob near the door handle and inside the cabin, the doors unlock on a touch, and the engine starts from the button. A short mechanical blade is stowed inside the body for a flat cell, and that blade is the only part of the key that is cut; everything else is programmed. There is no need for a Hyundai dealership in this. We pair the fob to the Tucson with the vehicle in front of us, then walk round it testing the door handles, the liftgate, the remote start and the panic button, so you leave knowing every function answers. Programming without the vehicle is not possible on any smart key, which is why the Tucson itself has to come to 4105 Macdonald St in Vancouver, or we come to it. Note what is and is not in the box. This is the working fob with its circuit board inside. A shell is the empty plastic case and rubber button pad, bought when a good fob has cracked or the buttons have worn through, and we can transfer your board into one if that is the cheaper fix. Two things send Tucson owners to us most. The first is a fob that the car simply stops seeing after the 12 volt battery went flat or was disconnected for a repair, which is a resync rather than a new key. The second is a fob lost on a trail or at the airport, which is a genuine replacement and, if it was the last one, a longer all keys lost session. Bring the registration and photo identification, and bring every other fob you own so it stays registered. Call 604-734-7233 to check stock and book the time.
