Key Blanks 01007LB Vancouver

A Sargent key stamped LB looks almost identical to an LA key at a glance, yet it will not go into an LA cylinder. That is the whole point of a lettered keyway family: the manufacturer changes the side milling so keys in one section of a building cannot even enter locks in another. The 01007LB blank carries the LB profile. How do you know which you have? Look at the bow of the key first. Many Sargent keys and aftermarket copies are stamped with the keyway letters, and the cylinder face sometimes shows them too. If nothing is stamped, we compare the blade end on against our profiles at the counter, which takes the guesswork out. Once the keyway is confirmed, cutting is straightforward. We copy your working key on a duplicator, deburr the edges so it does not drag on the pins, and try it against a gauge for depth. If the original is chewed up from years of daily use, cutting to the bitting code produces a cleaner result than tracing a worn edge. Facilities staff often order several LB keys at once for new hires; we are happy to cut a batch if you bring the pattern key or the code.
