Automotive Keys 1995-2003 BMW (4-Track) EWS - HU58/S7BW Transponder Key Vancouver

If your BMW key has a blade with grooves milled down both faces instead of notches along the edge, and the car is from the mid-1990s to about 2003, you are probably holding an HU58 four-track key. The four tracks are the internal cuts that run along the blade, two per side, and they are why a regular key duplicator cannot copy it. We cut HU58 blades on a code machine that reads or follows those tracks precisely, so the key turns smoothly in the door, trunk and ignition. Inside the head sits the transponder for BMW's EWS immobiliser, listed here under the S7BW reference. EWS keys are not simply cloned; the key has to be accepted by the EWS module in the car, and how that is done depends on the exact model and the module fitted. Ask us to confirm for your series and year before you order, and we will tell you whether we can handle it at the counter or need the car. A common reason people come in is a worn original: after twenty-odd years the tracks round off and the key starts sticking in the ignition. A freshly cut key from code often feels better than the old one. Bring the car, its registration and your photo ID, and if you have a working key, bring that too.
