Automotive Keys 1997-2005 Audi / 4-Button Flip Key Vancouver

Audi's switchblade-style key, where the blade folds into the remote body and springs out at the press of a button, was common on A4, A6 and TT models around the turn of the century. This version has four buttons, typically lock, unlock, trunk and panic, and it combines the remote, the transponder and the folding blade in one unit. The part that wears out first is usually the flip mechanism. A weak spring or a cracked pivot leaves the blade flopping half-open, and eventually it stops locking in place. The second most common failure is the buttons wearing through. Either way, a full replacement like this one solves both at once. Audi blades from this era use a high-security internal-cut profile, so they are cut on a code machine rather than a standard duplicator. After cutting, there are really two pairings: the remote buttons to the car's locking system, and the chip to the immobiliser. Both need the vehicle present, and we will ask for the registration and photo ID. Audi changed board versions during these years, so the right unit depends on your model and build date. Ask us to confirm for your trim/year, ideally with a photo of your current key, and we will make sure the buttons and the chip line up with your car.
