Automotive Keys 1998-2006 Audi HU66AT6 High Security Transponder Chip 48 Vancouver

Not every Audi from this period came with a flip key. Many owners have, or need, the fixed-blade version: a plain head on an HU66 high-security blade, with a type 48 transponder inside. The HU66AT6 reference identifies that combination of blade and head. The HU66 blade is the internal-cut profile used across the Volkswagen group, with a wavy channel milled into both sides. A standard duplicator cannot produce it, so we cut it on a code machine, which also means a fresh key from code can feel noticeably smoother than a worn original. Audi immobilisers of this generation use the 48 chip, and adding a key involves the car's immobiliser data. Depending on the model and immobiliser version, that can be done through the diagnostic port with the vehicle present. We confirm the version first, since Audi changed systems over these years; ask us to confirm for your trim/year. Who usually wants this key? Owners who have a flip key that keeps breaking and want a robust backup to leave at home, and owners of cars that never had a remote. It will start the car and open the doors by hand, but it has no buttons. Bring the car, registration and photo ID to the shop or book a mobile visit.
