This one is original Volvo electronics, refurbished and fitted in a new case, carrying FCC ID HYQ1512J and running on a CR2016 coin cell at 315 MHz. Before you buy, check the back of your current remote. If it carries the same FCC ID, this is a match. If yours is different, or missing, give us the model and year and we will check. A dead Volvo remote is not always a dead remote. Try a fresh CR2016 first; if the light flickers but the car ignores it, the remote may have lost its pairing, and if the buttons do nothing at all, it may be the board. When it needs replacing, we pair this unit to the car's central locking, which means the vehicle needs to be present. Because this is a keyless entry remote only, it does not start the car.
