Hold a Tibbe key up to the light and it looks almost unfinished: a short, round-backed blade with angled notches along one edge. That shape operates a lock built from rotating discs rather than pins, used by Ford and Jaguar on many cars of this era. This plain FO21T7 key is the Jaguar version, with a 4D60 glass transponder sealed in the head. It has no buttons, which makes it a good choice as a simple driving key or a spare for a Jaguar whose original remote key is fragile or expensive to replace. It opens the doors manually and starts the car once programmed. Cutting a Tibbe blade needs a dedicated machine, and copying a worn Tibbe key reproduces the wear. We prefer to cut from code where we can. Then the 4D60 chip is programmed to the Jaguar's immobiliser through the diagnostic port, which needs the vehicle on site, the registration and photo ID.
