Automotive Keys 2003-2004 Infiniti FX35 FX45 / 3-Button Smart Key Vancouver

The first-generation FX35 and FX45 were among the earliest Infinitis to ship with the Intelligent Key, the fob you keep in a pocket while the car senses it nearby. On these early FX models you still turn a knob on the dash rather than press a start button, but the principle is the same: no fob in range, no start. The three buttons cover lock and unlock plus one more function, which varies by build, so bring your old fob or ask us to confirm for your trim and year. Tucked inside the fob is a mechanical emergency blade. It is the only way into the vehicle if the fob cell dies or the 12-volt battery goes flat, and it needs to be cut to the door lock, which we do on our code machine. Programming a proximity key on a vehicle this age is done at the vehicle with diagnostic equipment, so the FX has to be there, along with your registration and photo ID. Adding a spare while you still have a working Intelligent Key keeps things simple. If both are gone, we can still do it; it is just a longer job.
