The NBG92596263 flip key, and how we set one up.
Volkswagen's switchblade key is a familiar sight: press the button on the side and the blade flicks out. On this 4-button version the face usually carries lock, unlock, trunk and panic, though some cars had a different fourth function, so compare with your own. The trouble spots are predictable. The spring that throws the blade out weakens, the pivot snaps, or the case splits around the battery door. If your board is healthy and only the housing is broken, a 4-button shell is the cheaper fix. If the key is lost or the remote is dead, you need this complete unit. The blade is a high-security internal cut, which we make on a code machine. After cutting, the transponder has to be added to the immobiliser and the remote synced to the car. That means the car must be present, along with registration and ID. Golf, Jetta, Passat and others used flip keys like this across these years, but the internal parts changed several times.
