Automotive Keys 2006-2015 Audi / 3-Button Flip Key Vancouver

An Audi of this era came with a flip key: press the release and a laser cut blade swings out of the fob on a spring, fold it back and the whole thing sits flat in a pocket. Three buttons handle locking, unlocking and the trunk. The blade turns the door and the ignition, the transponder inside the fob satisfies the immobiliser, and the remote board works the locks, all in one hinged body. This page is the complete flip key, electronics included. It is different from a flip key shell, which is the case, the spring and an uncut blade with nothing electronic in it; a shell is the right purchase when the hinge has gone floppy or the buttons have worn but your old key still starts the car, because we can transfer your board and chip into it and cut the new blade to match. Audi immobilisers are generational, and the ten model years here cover more than one, which changes what the programming involves. With a working key in hand a spare is written at the car. With every key gone the security data has to be read out of the cluster or the engine computer before a new key can be written, which we do at the vehicle with the VAG equipment carried in the van, and it is a longer appointment. One caution is worth repeating: on the A4 and A6 built roughly 2005 to 2012, a car that recognises the key but will not release the steering column is an electronic steering lock fault, and a new key will not fix it, so we check that first rather than sell you one. Meet us at 4105 Macdonald St in Vancouver with the car, the registration and your licence, or book a mobile visit. The number is 604-734-7233; have the VIN ready so we can confirm the immobiliser generation before quoting.
