The Jaguar smart key, and how we set one up.
Jaguar and Land Rover share a five-button fob from this period, and its weak points are well known: the button pad gets soft and splits, the chrome edges peel, and the little hidden emergency blade loses its catch. This is a replacement exterior for that fob, so you can keep your electronics and get rid of the scuffed, split case. A shell job does not touch the vehicle. We take your old fob apart, move the board and battery into this housing, and confirm the buttons line up and click. If the emergency key is missing, we can cut a new one to your door so the fob is complete again. Because the board is unchanged, the car still recognises it exactly as before. Make sure your fob still works before choosing a shell. If the car no longer detects it, even with a fresh battery, the problem is inside and a complete smart key is the answer. Compare the button layout too; these fobs usually carry lock, unlock, tailgate or trunk, lights and panic, but arrangements vary by model. A photo sent over before you order saves guessing.
