Chrysler and Dodge moved their sedans and minivans to push-button start in this period, and the key became a proximity fob: lock, unlock, panic and one more button, usually either trunk or remote start depending on how the vehicle was ordered. Look at your current fob before ordering, since a fob with the wrong fourth button will give you a key that works but lacks the feature you rely on. Inside the fob is an emergency key blade, released by a small button. We cut it to your driver's door lock. The electronics then have to be programmed into the vehicle, which needs the car present. We can usually do it at our shop or on a mobile call, but some models require an extra step that is easier with a working key on hand, so let us know if you have one. A common complaint is the fob not being detected when you press the start button.
