The Mazda car key, and how we set one up.
Mazda's SKYACTIV-era cars, the Mazda 3, CX-3 and CX-5, offered keyless entry and push-button start on many trims, and this three-button fob, with lock, unlock and trunk or liftgate, is the key for them. A small mechanical key sits inside, removable with a slider, for the door when the fob runs out of power. To tell whether you need this key, look at the dash: a start button means a smart key like this. A keyhole means a flip key or a remote head key, which is a different part. Within the smart key family, Mazda produced a few different shapes over these years, and we can match yours from a photo. We program the key to the car with it present and cut the mechanical key to your lock. Losing one is common, since these slim fobs slip out of pockets easily. We make a new one whether or not you still have another, with the job done at the vehicle. Registration and photo ID are needed.
