The GQ4-54T smart key, and how we set one up.
On a Ram with keyless start, you leave the fob in your pocket, step on the brake and press the button. That is the system this 4-button smart key belongs to. It is not the same as the Fobik, which looks similar but has to be pushed into a slot in the dash to start the truck. If your Ram has no slot and just a start button, this is the right family. The four buttons are typically lock, unlock, panic and one more for remote start or the tailgate, depending on options. Confirm against your current fob before ordering. Inside the fob is a small metal emergency key for the driver's door. It earns its keep the day the truck battery dies in a cold snap and the doors will not unlock any other way. We cut it to your truck so it is ready. The fob itself gets programmed to the truck through the diagnostic port, with the vehicle present and its registration and your photo ID.
