Look on the back of your current Toyota remote head key for the FCC number. If it reads GQ4-52T, this aftermarket key is built to that same remote, with an H chip transponder in the head. Toyota moved many models to the H chip in this period, and older keys from the earlier system will not substitute. A stamped H on the blade near the head is another clue. This is an aftermarket unit rather than a Toyota-branded one. It is built to work the same way: lock, unlock, rear hatch and panic, with the transponder and remote in one head and a turn ignition blade below. H chip keys are programmed with diagnostic equipment through the vehicle's OBD port. A vehicle with one working key is the easier case, and an all-keys-lost Toyota on this system needs more work at the vehicle, though we can still get it done.
